Armenian alpine skier Gleb Mosesov, who has delivered the country’s strongest results in recent years, has not been included in Armenia’s roster for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan–Cortina d’Ampezzo. Despite earning an Olympic quota spot and holding a high ranking by Armenian alpine skiing standards, the federation selected another athlete — Harutyun Harutyunyan.

Sportaran contacted Mosesov to get his reaction.

— Hi Gleb, how is your Olympic preparation going?
— Hi, unfortunately I’m not going to the Olympics.

— Why did that happen?
— That question is better addressed to the federation or the coaching council, as it was their decision.

— How did you learn about the decision and how did you feel? You had been preparing specifically for the Games.
— There was a coaching council where all decisions were made. It’s obviously disappointing, because I try to deliver the best possible results for the country and bring Armenia to a strong international level. I’ll continue preparing for European Cup stages and will try as quickly as possible to collect enough FIS points to compete in the World Cup and promote Armenia in global alpine skiing.

Asked about Harutyunyan’s Olympic chances, Mosesov answered briefly:
— I don’t know, we’ll see during the competitions.

Mosesov is currently in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he continues to compete. In just the past few days he reached the podium twice, with his latest start on January 28.
