On August 21 in Samokov (Bulgaria), the fifth day of the U20 Wrestling World Championships 2025 took place. After the freestyle competition concluded, the Greco-Roman wrestlers entered the mat, while women’s wrestling continued.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, preliminary bouts were held and finalists were determined in two weight categories — 60 kg and 82 kg. In women’s wrestling, finals took place in four weight divisions — 55, 62, 65, and 76 kg.

Two Greco-Roman wrestlers represented Armenia. Yurik Mkhitaryan (60 kg) confidently advanced to the final and will fight for the gold medal tomorrow. Another Armenian, Martik Petrosyan (82 kg), reached the semifinals but lost and will compete for bronze.

60 kg:
Suraj Suraj (India) — Yurik Mkhitaryan (Armenia) 0:9
Vakhtang Lolua (Georgia) — Ayhan Javadov (Azerbaijan) 1:7 fall -/+

82 kg:
Martik Petrosyan (Armenia) — Mikhail Shkarin (Russia) 0:9
Dias Seitkaliyev (Kazakhstan) — Taizo Yoshida (Japan) 9:0

Final: Mikhail Shkarin (Russia) — Dias Seitkaliyev (Kazakhstan)
Martik Petrosyan (Armenia) will wrestle for bronze.

55 kg:
