U20 World Wrestling Championships 2025: Day One Results in Bulgaria

On August 17, the U20 World Freestyle Wrestling Championships 2025 kicked off in Samokov, Bulgaria. The opening day featured qualification bouts and semifinals in four weight categories — 70, 74, 97, and 125 kg. The first finalists of the tournament were determined.
By the end of Day One, two wrestlers each from Russia and the USA reached the finals, along with one representative each from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, and Moldova. The battle for gold in every weight class promises to be intense and internationally diverse.
