On October 14, in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, the 2025 World Grappling Championship for adult men and women began in the disciplines Grappling Gi and Grappling No-Gi.

On the first day of the competition, Armenia was represented by two athletes, but they did not manage to reach the podium.
Razmik Misakyan (58 kg) placed 5th, while Lilit Danielyan (53 kg) took 7th.

By the end of day one, Russian athletes had won five gold medals. One gold each was also won by representatives from Azerbaijan, Moldova, Spain, and France.

It is worth noting that the champion in the up to 130 kg category was former UFC fighter and current PFL competitor Alexander Romanov from Moldova.
