European Championships 2026 U23 in Greco-Roman Wrestling: Draw Results and First Opponents of the Armenian Team

Today, March 12, the draw for the Greco-Roman wrestling competition at the 2026 U23 European Wrestling Championships took place in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

On March 13, the tournament will begin in the 55, 63, 77, 87, and 130 kg weight categories. The following wrestlers will be the first to compete for the Armenian national team:

55 kg — Manvel Khachatryan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Ivan Stefansky (Ukraine)

63 kg — Armen Sukiasyan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Maksut Sultanov (Ukraine)

77 kg — Samvel Terteryan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Dominik Botos (Hungary)

87 kg — Vigen Nazaryan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Achiko Bolkvadze (Georgia)

130 kg — Aramais Harutyunyan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Leonhardt Junger (Austria)

On March 14, the remaining five Armenian wrestlers will start their campaign:

60 kg — Suren Aghajanyan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Ilian Ainaoui (France)

67 kg — Yurik Hoveyan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Matus Jankovic (Czech Republic) / Bers Idal Timirbiev (Norway)

72 kg — Ashot Khachatryan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Joao Duarte (Portugal) / Osmen Gocmen (Turkey)

82 kg — Martik Petrosyan
First opponent in the Round of 32 – Matija Radojevic (Montenegro)
Possible Round of 16 opponent if he advances – Ilya Valeuski (Belarus)

97 kg — Ruben Gevorgyan
First opponent in the Round of 16 – Robin Uspenski (Estonia)
