MMA fighter Arman Tsarukyan received $10,000 from Giorgio Poullas after winning a bet. Earlier, the athletes had made a wager on whether Tsarukyan would be able to perform a takedown against Poullas. In the end, the Armenian fighter not only succeeded but did so twice in both bouts.
After receiving the money, Tsarukyan stated that he would donate the winnings to charity—the funds will be used to help a sick boy.
The rematch between the athletes took place at the RAF 07 tournament and was more convincing for Tsarukyan: he won in freestyle wrestling with a score of 9:3. It is worth noting that their first meeting at RAF 06 also ended in his favor—5:3. That bout was followed by a mass brawl, which led to the organization of the rematch.
After the RAF 07 tournament, the conflict between the athletes was resolved—Tsarukyan and Pullas shook hands, demonstrating mutual respect.
