Artur Avetisyan wins silver at the Cairo World Cup stage

Armenian gymnast Artur Avetisyan won a silver medal at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup stage held in Cairo.
In the rings final, Avetisyan scored 14.300 points to finish second. Olympic champion Eleftherios Petrounias won gold with 14.366, while China’s Liu Yang took bronze with a score of 13.866.
Another Armenian gymnast, Artur Davtyan, narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth with 13.833 points. He will compete tomorrow in the vault final, where he will aim for a medal.
This marks Avetisyan’s second medal in the 2026 World Cup series. Earlier, he won gold at the competition in Cottbus.
It should also be noted that Armenia’s Hamlet Manukyan had previously won gold at this stage, excelling in the pommel horse event.
