Legendary Greco-Roman wrestler, four-time world champion Artur Aleksanyan lost in the 1/4 finals of the World Championship. In the fight to reach the semifinals, Artur fought with Azerbaijani Murad Akhmediev. During his roll, he got caught on a carcass and couldn't get out. Artur was one of the main favorites of the tournament, but for the second tournament in a row he is close to being left without a medal.
I want to remind you that there was a similar situation with the roll in the semi-finals of the European Championship, where he again failed to make a complete reception on the Bulgarian wrestler Kirill Milov. In that case, Arthur had already fought Cyril twice.
On the other side of the grid, the representative of Russia, Artur Sargsyan, will be against the Azerbaijani. So there is very little chance that Aleksanyan will get a chance at a consolation block.
The semifinals will be held at 17:30 Moscow time․
