CSKA Moscow midfielder Artyom Bandikyan was called up to the Armenia U21 national team for the EURO 2027 qualifying matches against Sweden and Poland. However, the 19-year-old player did not travel to Sweden, where the youth team is playing today.
Instead, Bandikyan took part in an open training session with the Armenian national team under the guidance of Yeghishe Melikyan. According to media reports, he may be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Portugal, which will take place on September 6 in Yerevan.
This season, Bandikyan has been regularly playing for CSKA: he has 3 appearances in the Russian Premier League and 3 games in the Russian Cup, where he provided one assist. He is capable of covering both central midfield and defensive flank positions.
In addition, it became known that defender Stepa Mkrtchyan will miss the match against Portugal due to injury.
