Armenian kickboxer Marat Grigorian (69–14–1, 1 NC) defeated Japan’s Rukiya Anpo (27–9–1) by unanimous decision at the ONE 173 event held today, November 16, in Tokyo.
This is Grigorian ’s second consecutive victory since his loss to Superbon Banchamek, and the results of his recent fights provide grounds to expect a rematch soon. Moreover, Superbon himself is defending his lightweight championship title on the same card in a bout against Masaaki Noiri.
Grigorian confidently controlled the fight throughout all three rounds, winning each of them. The Armenian fighter acted methodically and technically, outstriking his opponent at all distances. He demonstrated a well-designed game plan, excellent physical condition, and complete dominance in the ring.
The victory in Tokyo strengthens Grigoryan’s position in the title race and makes a potential rematch with Superbon even more anticipated by fans.
