Armenia U19 draw with Kosovo in EURO 2027 qualification opener

The Armenia U19 national team began their EURO 2027 qualification campaign with a draw. In the first-round match, the Armenian side played 1–1 against Kosovo. The match took place on March 24 in Antalya, Turkey.
Kosovo opened the scoring in the 19th minute. After a penalty was awarded, Armenia goalkeeper Artur Petrosyan saved the initial shot, but Lorik Mehmeti was first to the rebound and sent the ball into the net.
The Armenian team managed to equalize only in the closing stages. In the 81st minute, team captain David Batoyan, who represents Rostov, converted a penalty. The spot kick was earned by Urartu forward Sargis Gasparyan.
In the 89th minute, Armenia were reduced to ten men as defender Hayk Ghukasyan received a red card.
Statistically, Armenia looked more active in attack, recording 15 shots compared to Kosovo’s 9.
Armenia will play their next match on March 27 against Turkey.
