Armenia Defeats Georgia and Wins the Unibank Cup Futsal Tournament

The Armenia national futsal team successfully completed its preparation for the European Championship by winning the international Unibank Cup tournament held in Yerevan. On December 24, in the final match of the competition, the hosts defeated the Georgia national team 3–1.
The first half was tightly contested and ended goalless at 0–0. After the break, the Armenian team significantly increased its pace and aggression, which paid off. Goals for Armenia were scored by Arsen Petrosov and Nikita Khromykh, while the third goal was sent into an empty net late in the match, after the Georgian team went all-in by replacing the goalkeeper with an additional outfield player.

Earlier in the tournament, Armenia defeated Moldova (2–1) and Kyrgyzstan (5–1), finishing the competition with a perfect record. At the end of the tournament, Armenia national football team head coach Yeghishe Melikyan presented the Unibank Cup trophy to the winners.
In the other match of the day, Kyrgyzstan defeated Moldova 4–2.
