8 Medals in Chișinău: Armenian Wrestlers Shine at International Tournament

From February 12 to 14, a major international freestyle wrestling tournament for youth athletes was held in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. The event brought together 136 wrestlers from eight countries.

The Armenian national team competed under the guidance of coaches Arman Malkhasyan and Narek Sirunyan. Eleven Armenian wrestlers stepped onto the mat, demonstrating confident and effective performances. As a result, the Armenian team secured multiple medals of various ranks.

Gold Medalists:

• Gagik Ghazaryan (61 kg)
• David Davtyan (70 kg)
• Hakob Hakobyan (97 kg)

Silver Medalists:

• Arman Harutyunyan (57 kg)
• Samvel Gevorgyan (61 kg)
• Narek Ikilikyan (92 kg)

Bronze Medalists:

• Vladimir Azaryan (74 kg)
• Henrik Aikyan (125 kg)

The Chișinău tournament became an important stage in preparing young wrestlers for upcoming international competitions and allowed the coaching staff to assess the potential of the national team’s nearest reserve.
