On September 3 in Las Vegas, the fourth episode of Dana White’s Contender Series 2025 took place. The tournament featured five bouts, and four fighters were awarded UFC contracts.
In this episode, two fighters of Armenian origin competed for a contract — Jean-Paul Bosnoyan (Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani) and David Mgoyan, a Yezidi from Armenia.
David Mgoyan (7-1) unfortunately lost to Tommy McMillan (9-0) by majority decision at DWCS 4. Judges’ scorecards: 28-28, 29-28, 29-28 for the American. This fight featured students of UFC stars Arman Tsarukyan and Sean O’Malley. It was an exciting clash: Mgoyan confidently won the first round and was close to a submission victory, but McMillan survived. David spent a lot of energy trying to finish the fight, which cost him the initiative in the second and third rounds, where he absorbed many strikes. In the beginning of the final round, Mgoyan managed to even things out, but McMillan took over in the end, convincing the judges to give him the win.
After the fight, UFC president Dana White praised the high level of the bout and announced that David Mgoyan would receive a performance bonus, while Tommy McMillan earned a UFC contract. Interestingly, McMillan was not present in the arena for the decision announcement — he had been taken to the hospital right after the fight.
Another Armenian-origin fighter, representing the USA, Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani , scored an impressive first-round knockout victory over Jack Congdon (7-2) in the main event, earning himself a well-deserved UFC contract.
